Tay Ninh city is most famous for being the home
of the Cao Dai religion, an indigenous Vietnamese faith that
includes the teachings of the major world religions. It is
also home to one of the largest and most unusual temples in
Vietnam.
The Cao Dai religion's Holy See, built between
1933 and 1955, is located around 5 km to the east of Tay Ninh's
town centre.
The Cao Dai religion is a mixture of
Christian, Buddhist, Islamic and European humanist elements.
It has more than one million followers in
Vietnam and the temple in Tay Ninh is the the centre.
Tay Ninh is one hour to the west of Ho Chi Minh
