Caracas - Puerto Ordaz - Canaima & Angel Falls One of the most beautiful places in venezuela is canaima" "lagoon and its surroundings, the lagoon is fed by several small waterfalls. Hacha, Wadaima, Golondrina and Ucaima. Behind these you can see 3 ´´tepee´´ flat top" "mountains that distinguish this region. To the northwestern "part of canaima´s national park, is the auyantepuy, one of the largest and better known tepee (a flat topped mountain ending with vertical walls), from where the angel falls" is formed. The fall is 979 meters high (around 3000ft) and it is the highest waterfall in the world. Angel falls is the eighth wonder of the world. It´s venezuela´s most touted tourist attraction. Canaima in rainy season. Full day tour to angel falls which takes a 5 hour boat ride with onboard local bongo. Rest at orchid island / continue cruising up the carrao river until Ratoncito island on route wonderfull panoramic views of the Auyantepuy mountain range. 1 hour jungle walk to base of angel falls. Return back to ratoncito island early afternoon return same route back to canaima. Or in the dry season. Full day orchid island which is a 3 hour boat ride down the Carrao river crossing rapids + Savannah with part of the Auyantepuy mountain range en route. Arrival at orchid island with white sandy beaches. Early afternoon return same way back to the camp in canaima dinner and overnight. |

Canaima - Puerto Ordaz. Puerto Ordaz lies near the confluence of two major rivers, the Caroni river and the Orinoco river and is full of greenery the results of fertile well norished lands. The three parks Cachamay, Loeflling, Llovizna are a showcase to the areas flora and fauna. The industrial zone to the west of the confluence is where the production of steel, iron and aluminium are concentrated in this area. The hydroelectric potential of the Caroni river is one of the greatest in the world converting the Guri dam into the cornerstone of Guayana´s industrial deveolpment. |

Puerto Ordaz - Caracas Departure flight to Puerto Ordaz Visit to Castillos de Guayana, two strong forts (San Francisco" & San Diego) built on the rocky hill south of the Orinoco river between 1678 and 1681, to protect San Tomas of Guayana by land and sea from constant raids of pirates and corsairs in search of Eldorado. Tour through the forts with local guide, who will give you its brief history. Note: national monuments & museums are not opened to public on mondays if this tour cannot be done this day it will be substituted by another tour. |
