Caracas < Puerto Ordaz < Canaima Jungle, lagoon, waterfalls….. One of the most beautiful places in venezuela is Canaima lagoon and its surroundings, the lagoon is fed by several small waterfalls, Hacha, Wadaima, Golondrina and Ucaima. Behind these you can see 3 ´´tepee´´ those flat top" "mountains that distinguish this region. To the northwestern "part of canaima´s national park, is the Auyantepuy, one of the largest and better known flat topped mountains ending with vertical walls, and from where the angel falls is formed. The fall is 979 meters high (around 3000ft) and it is the highest waterfall In the world. Angel falls is the eighth wonder of the world making it Venezuela´s most touted Tourist attraction. Canaima 1st option : Full day tour to base of angel falls (rain season) Full day tour to base of angel falls which is a 5 hour boat ride down the Carrao river with a panoramic view of the Auyantepuy mountain Range en route. Picnic breakfast & lunch en route passing by Orchid island. Continue to sail down the Cherun meru river to reach Ratoncito island from where we will walk for 1 hour through the jungle to arrive at base of angel falls. Behold the falls in all its beauty and splendour. Early afternoon return same route back to Canaima. Trek a bit difficult. 2nd option: Full day orchid island (dry season) If no rain this tour will be the substitute. Breakfast in the camp then a 3 hour boat ride down the Carrao river crossing rapids + savannah with part of the Auyantepuy mountain range en route. Arrival at orchid island with white sandy beach for picnic lunch. Early afternoon return same way back to the camp for dinner and overnight. |

Canaima - Santa Elena -Paraitepuy Roraima This unique gigantic flat topped mountain is located in the three-country-triangle formed by Venezuela, British Guyana, and Brazil. It is surrounded by a stunning landscape of forests, savannahs, waterfalls and tepuys. The impressive geographical formation of the tepuy has led to huge valleys of rock formations, carved over the centuries. It also offers huge lakes, waterfalls and impressive vertical cavities of great beauty where scientists have discovered plant and animal species which are considered extinct or had not been observed elsewhere on earth. |

Breakfast and commence our walk for about 4 to 5 hours, crossing rivers, gentle hills and savannahs to arrive at the river Tek or Kukenan river depending on weather conditions where we will set up our camp. (at approximately 900m or 3000f) overnight in tents close to the river. |

Rio Tek - base. After breakfast continue our walk for about 5 hours crossing many hills to arrive at the base of Roraima approximately 1.800m or 6000f. We will arrive here at approximately 2 or 3 pm to have lunch and set up our camp site here. After a short rest we explore our surroundings to observe different species of plants. Temperatures are down to about 15ºc (60ºf) at night, often with rain. overnight in tents. |

Base - top Breakfast and begin our ascent to the top. A 4 to 5 hours climb will depend on your physical conditions , crossing through the tropical forest, rocky path and observation of the endemic flora that grows only around this rocky formations. Once at the top we will set up our camp site in the rocky cave, known in this area as ´´hotels´´. We will arrive at the top at around 14:00 pm, to have lunch. After a short rest we will walk for about 2 hours to the south-west rocky platform to climb to the highest point of Roraima (2810 m.a.s.l.) . From here we can observe if weather permits, a vast area of the gran savannah and the extension of the rocky platform at the top of the tepuy. Late afternoon return back to our camp siteat about 2800 m (9,180 ft.), below a rock ledge to protect us from the strong winds and low temperatures, 5ºc (41ºf) at night. |

Exploring the top. Start our exploration which is characterized by its rare rock formations, streams and being one of the oldest sites on the earth dating back to 1800 or 2000 million years. We have 2 options of visit:- Option a: to the triple point - where the borders of Brazil / Venezuela / British Guyana meet. On this trip we will visit the crystal valley, the monkey eating icecream, the fosa, the labyrinths etc etc. This is approximately 8 hours trip (returning back to the camp site around 16:00 pm) Option b: To the Abismo (abyss), from this point we can observe the Matawi (kukenan) tepuy, la proa of Roraima, the extensive jungle between the 2 tepuys. During this trip we will cross a small valley of quartz crystals, here we can have a swim (if weather permits) in this place known as the crystal well. The visits between option a or b will depend on which one the group decides. |

Top - Rio Tek After breakfast we begin our descent to river tek-paru. The first part of the walk will conclude at the base camp where we will have lunch to continue to river tek, to set up our camp site. |

Rio tek - Parai tepuy - Gran Sabana Breakfast and continue our walk to Parai tepuy from where our jeeps will be waiting to transport us to Gran Sabana with sight seeing in route. |

Gran Sabana - Puerto Ordaz - Caracas Departure back to Puerto Ordaz arrival late afternoon in Puerto Ordaz to take your flight back to Caracas. |
