Meru National Park is a Kenyan forest reserve
located east of Meru, 350 km from Nairobi.
Meru is one the lesser known parks of Kenya,
however it was home to the famous "Elsa" lioness of the
book Born free and her grave is marked.
Due to abundant rainfall it has tall grass and
lush swamps making it difficult to spot game unlike other African
parks.
It has a wide range of wild beasts like
elephant, hippopotamus, lion, leopard, cheetah and some rare
antelopes. |
