Kaziranga National Park is located on the banks
of the Brahmaputra River in the far North East of India.
The Park, which is a World Heritage Site, is
well known for its one-horned rhino. This is one of those amazing
places where one can see the wild life in its natural habitat.
Aswell as the rhino, there are a whole host of animals including
elephants, wild buffalos and leopards. It is also a haven for
many different rare and near extinct species of birds.
The best time to visit Kaziranga is from
mid-November to early April months. when the monsoons visit, the
mighty Brahmaputra River bursts its banks, causing flooding in the
low-lying grasslands which causes the animals to migrate from one
area to another within the Kaziranga National Park. |
