Iceland is a most beautiful country with a lot to offer visitors of all ages. The Peak period in Iceland is the summer time, usually from May-September. Accommodation (in Reykjavik) is also more expensive during the New year, usually from December 28th/29th to January 5th/6. And of course all labour is more expensive during hollidays, such as New Years Eve (December 31st) and New Year Day (January 1st). Iceland is the place to go to experience Mother Nature at her best. Sights such as a stunning icecap, several glaciers, spouting geysers and steaming solfataras, volcanoes, raging rivers and magnificent waterfalls. If that's not enough then how about the wildlife? There is a multitude of birds, cavorting whales just offshore and many other surprises. If you imagined Iceland to be cold then experience the summers which are surprisingly warm and winters not as cold as you might expect. it does not matter what time of the year that you visit, you can guarantee that the locals will treat you with their warmth, they have a great desire to share their culture. For the more adventurous tourist we offer Snowmobiling. Easy to include in tours such as the Golden Circle tour or in a round tour (Solheimajokull glacier or Vatnajokull glacier). Horse back riding. The Icelandic horse is a special breed traced back to the viking horses the settlers brought with them in the 9th century. It is considered sure-footed and good tempered. The Icelandic horse has four gaits: Walk, trot, gallop, pace and tolt, the specialty of the Icelandic Horse. It is a smooth four-beat gait in which the horse's hind legs move well under the body and carry more of the weight on the hind part, allowing the front to rise and be free and loose. Dog sledding is not as easy to include in tours as snow mobiling. For whale watching there is a departure every day from Reykjavik during the summer, 3 times daily, morning, afternoon, and evenings. You can also take part in sea angling or try your hand at river rafting. |
