The official currency of Croatia is the Kuna
(HRK).
The Kuna is made up of one hundred Lipas, and
is considered to be a relatively stable currency.
Notes are in denominations of Kn1,000, 500,
200, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5.
You will probably get the best rates at the
bank or the airport when it comes to exchanging your money.
The bureau de change at your hotel is likely
to give you a poor rate and may charge very large processing fees
on top of that.
ATM machines can be found in most towns and
resorts. Major credit cards can be used in hotels,
restaurants and shops.
Travellers are advised to take traveller's
cheques in US Dollars, Pounds Sterling or Euros to avoid
additional exchange rate charges. |
