SUZHOU - Suzhou is a famous city on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the shores of Lake Taihu in the province of Jiangsu, China.

The city is renowned for its beautiful stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens.

Suzhou has also been an important center for China's silk industry since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), and continues to hold that prominent position today.

It is part of the Golden Triangle region.

Suzhou is home to more than 60 gardens created during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

These 60 gardens are all that remain of the estimated 270 gardens that existed over the centuries. The Humble Administrator's Garden was completed during the early 16th century and it the largest of all the gardens in Suzhou. This Suzhou garden is listed as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO. The name of the garden is based on a poem written by Jin-dynasty poet Pan Yue,
