Cape Horn is located at the southernmost tip of
South America, at the very end of the Andes Mountains chain. It is
a rugged and majestic region which features a diverse and
fascinating ecosystem.
Cape Horn is often referred to as "the
far end of the earth," this beautiful, untamed Antarctic
strait connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
You will view the natural sea walls and cliffs
that jutt out almost 1,400 feet from the sea, depending on weather
conditions.
You may even be lucky enough to witness giant
slabs of ice breaking off and crashing in spectacular fashion into
the sea below.
You will also find an abundance of sea birds,
penguins and seals. If you are really lucky you mayspot a killer
whale or two trailing alongside the ship. |
