27/Dec/2006 - Updating the site on a daily basis now. Have just sent a list of tours to the office in China to be price, as I have for Hong kong, so by early January I will actually be able to deal with the enquiries direct. For the record, back on page 1 of Google today, position 10 granted, but still page 1 - ultimately I would love pos 3 or 4 of course. I am hoping that next PR updte we will go to 5 which will help of course

26/Dec/2006 - Christmas day we actually went to page 1, position 10. Nice Christmas gift, but today we are back to 11 !

Still have spent the evening linking to various directories and watching National Treasure.

For some reason when you noe search for "www.oneworldtours.co.uk" it suddenly comes up with 9,690 matches - not quite sure why

Still the all important thing is "holidays in egypt" shows us up as number 11 on google

23/Dec/2006 - Link count is currently just under 1,000 - Have put loads of work into linking to quality directories who do not require recipricals

Have slowed gone up and up on google - as of tonight we are position 11 for holidays in egypt and whats equally great is holidays in china, thailand etc also brings us up on pages 2, 3 and 4 - wow !!!

2007 is going to be a huge, huge year for One World Tours

28/OCT/2006 - Linking is going really good. Our Holidays in Egypt search on google is creeping up. Some days its page 2, most days its page 3. Still waiting on DMOZ, would love that to happen soon.

Have a steady PR of 4 now. Found a great list of directories and am adding to those - PRs of 3 to 8.

In 2 weeks time we are off to the far east as soon as well as holidays in egypt and jordan, we will be offering holidays in china, holidays in thailand and holidays in hong kong

Just out of interest, the current link count for www.oneworldtours.co.uk on google is 249

6/SEP/2006 - Finally got domain name problems with google sorted out and now when you search for Holidays in Egypt on Google - you ACTUALLY find us - on page 5 admitadly, however it is the domain of www.oneworldtours.co.uk instead of the old .plus.com - we were as high as page 3 at one point but I think closing down the old .plus.com site probably did that. Now I have a little more time i'll get back to updating the site and building more links (quality) - anyway - back to work

29/May/2006 - "I will be trying now to update this blog every week" that was how the last entry read ! - well perhaps once a month was more realistic. Still lots more has again been added to the site and existing stuff has been tweaked. Also we have put together a stunning ad which will go out to businesses by e-mail this week. So will have to see how that goes.

Had a weekend in Scotland which was very nice indeed

Anyway, back to work and back to more promoting of One World Tours, Egypt, Hong Kong, China, Thailand and Jordan

1/May/2006 - Despite it being a ridiculous 6 months since I updated this page, its not 6 months since the site was worked on ! The site is worked on virtually everyday and we are now offering extra destinations including Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Jordan and of course Egypt still

We have now added a new hotel section and done away with the bug ridden CGI version which although allowed searches, did not allow the individual pages to be included on the search engines.

I also, digressing for a moment, just want to send out love to my dad, who died in March - I love and miss you dad.

I will be trying now to update this blog every week.

28/November/2005 - How can it possible be nearly 2 weeks since I updated this - Doing a search with WPG is showing all the sites moving up and I am in thprocess of adding another 300 pages to the OWT site - Holidays in Egypt - This section will specifically be done for the AETBI enquiries - the prices have been cut massively. Very little profit, but hopefully the numbers will be good.

15/November/2005 - I FINALLY am almost on top of work, so the plan is to start working on that original content. Its very frustrating OWT now has a PR of 5 and yet still we are no where when you search for holidays in Egypt - so much for page rank being king. The thing I have come to the conclusion is that most of the SEO forums are full of people with opinions and others who perhaps got lucky with their sites, but NO ONE really seems to know how to get to the bottom of the Google Algorythm - anyway, hopefully tomorrow I can start on that all important "original"content - more detailed train info, weather info, update the currency page etc etc etc

A search for "Shades of Egypt" brought up 1,720 matches - then 1,760- now 1,930

A search for "www.shadesofegypt.plus.com" brought up 212 matches. - then 868- now 511

A search for sites linking to SOE, which is done by searching for link: www.shadesofegypt.plus.com came up with 253 matches - then 271- now 317

shadesofegypt was 238 - then 958- now 520

A little up and down but importantly I guess the Links themselves are up, I will look very soon to update SOE and OWT 3 times a week each doing say an hour of updates and new "ORIGINAL" content (ie, I am not going to share the same pages between the 2 sites as I gather this can be frowned upon !)

24/October/2005 - So much for the inbox being empty - shed load of stuff awaITS ME AGAIN THIS WEEK. Suhner newsletter, couple of new sites and in themean time loads of paper work and also having to totaly restructure the One World Tours Websites as we are now offering holidays in egypt and holidays in jordan

Long term we will also be doing SE Asia and of course turkey which we seem to be having worked on forever

Google finally did their update and we went up to a PR pf 5 - unfortunately we are still no where on google - some folks on various seo sites say give it a couple of weeks - we'll see. anyway I am going to give 1 hour every day to adding more "ORIGINAL" information to the site so that google will also see what agood and reliable site we are - will also work on each sunday on GOOD back links - must also do some work on SOE perhaps once a week too and see what that does - I do think regular updates and good original contentcis THE MOST IMPORTNT THING

14/October/2005 - Inbox ALMOST EMPTY - Now that does not happen very often. Looking around it looks the the PR update is ready at any moment now

As a reslut I will update a load more of the tours that I have not done yet and a few more pages for that matter

May add the ONE WORLD TOURS LOGO to all pages and link i back, that would be a solid update to 3 or 4 hundred pages. Fortunately Google is back visiting us everyday

03/10/05 - noticed Goolge has not crawled the site for a while. Does show just how imprtant regular updated are....

Wow.... If ever you needed evidence that content is important to Google, this last 6 weks have prooved that. We have moved to new offices and as you can see, they needed quite a lot of work to say the least. As a result I struggled to keep up with the normal day to day enquiries and as a result the site did not really get updated...and boy did google show its displeasure. Just looked at the Google cached version of the site and it last visited us on the 24th of August - just after our updates stopped. Anyway we have more time now so hopefully this will allow more updates to be done everyday and as a result we should get google back more often (we were being crawled every day at one point) and this should be in time for the new PR which rumour has it will be in October. In Julys PR update we went from a 1 to a 3 - so I am hoping for a 4 this time. Fingers crossed. Last 2 things. 1 - We ordered a printingmachine from China so we can do our own shrts, mouse mats etc and 2 yesterday I used a bcaklink service for SOE. I do not know if it will work, I certainly was not going to risk it on OWT. Current stas on google fo SOE are as follows....
