What to see in Bhutan

East Bhutan

When you drive across the Thumsingla pass and then take subsequent descent from high altitude pine forest. You enter the lush pastures and orchards in one of the most exciting drives through the Himalayas.

Your eyes will soak in the gushing waterfalls, steep cliffs, stunning flowers, and constantly changing vegetation. All of this combines to make this journey as varied and beautiful as you can imagine.

On a clear day the high eastern range of mountains comes into view from the top of the pass and in inclement weather misty mountain views across many peaks can be seen.

The Eastern dialect is very different from the West often making it difficult for the two to understand each other.

The country is more rugged and the population more sparse which makes the East side probably the best side for trekking trips.
